COMMERCE CITY, Colo. -

An officer-involved shooting after a hit-and-run accident north of Denver has left one man hospitalized.

Colorado State Patrol investigators say they were responding to a hit-and-run crash early Monday in the Commerce City area and located a driver.
    
According to KMGH-TV, the driver ran and investigators believed the person was armed. At some point, a state patrol trooper fired on the suspect. No details have been released about the suspect's injuries.
    
A mile of Interstate 270 was closed between interstates 25 and 76 for several hours during the investigation.
