DENVER - A woman who has been living in the basement of a Denver church for the last 65 days has been named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine.
Jeanette Vizguerra took refuge at the First Unitarian Church of Denver in Mid-February as Immigration and Customers Enforcement sought to deport her.
Vizguerra came to the United States from Mexico in 1997 with her husband and eldest daughter. She has been living in the US undocumented since and has three US-born children under the age of 12.
Vizguerra says she is honored that her 20 years of activism for immigrants rights are being recognized.
