Deputies help stranded bus passengers

PUEBLO, Colo. - A group of Pueblo officers and Pueblo County deputies became saviors for 40 stranded bus riders on Sunday morning.

The El Paso-Los Angeles Limousine Express Inc. bus was traveling down Interstate 25 in Pueblo just after midnight when it broke down in temperatures hovering at -17 degrees.

Passengers were stuck there for nearly an hour.

Pueblo police asked for Sheriff's Office deputies to come and help transport the passengers to a hotel in the area.

Sheriff Lt. Diego Duran was able to get three Sheriff’s Office transport vans, and with the help of Deputies Aaron Howe, David Morey and Donald Teschner, passengers were able to get to shelter.
