PUEBLO, Colo. - Friday night was the opening night of the Boats, Bands and Barbecue Festival in Pueblo.
The cold, windy and cloudy weather made for a sparse crowd for the start of the festival's 17th year.
But organizers say they aren't too worried.
“We should be proud of what we've created down here. It's a great community amenity. It was built for friends and family of Pueblo. So grab your family, call your friends and come on down to the Riverwalk,” said Lynn Clark.
The festival closed at 11 p.m. on Friday night and it picks back up on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturday’s events will include the "People's Choice” contest where a special $15 ticket will let you test barbecue pork from nearly 40 different teams.
