Body recovered from Lake Pueblo believed to be missing fisherman

Search is over for missing Fisherman...

PUEBLO, Colo. - A body was recovered from Lake Pueblo on Monday evening, and officials believe it is the missing fisherman.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife confirmed that crews had found the body at around 4 p.m.

The 65-year-old fisherman from Pueblo West was last seen entering the water while he was fishing from the north shore in the State Wildlife Area, west of Lake Pueblo State Park.

He apparently jumped in after a fish pulled his fishing rod into the lake.

Dive teams were using cages to drag along the bottom of the lake in hopes of finding the body in low visibility water.

The body was found at around 3 p.m. on Monday in 25-feet deep water. It was about three miles west of the North Shore Marina.

The remains were immediately turned over to Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter for positive identification and determination of a cause of death.
