PUEBLO, Colo. - Authorities have released the names of two Pueblo police officers who shot and killed a man after police say he backed into a patrol car and then accelerated toward the officers.
The incident happened at 12:15 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Small and Acero.
The officers were searching for a wanted person when they encountered Andrew Bird, 33. Police say two of the three officers at the scene fired their weapons as Byrd drove toward them.
Those officers were identified Friday as Neal Robinson, a 10-year veteran, and Bernadette Lambert, a nine-year veteran.
Both officers are on paid administrative leave.
