PUEBLO, Colo. - As opioid overdoses rise, a new location for a needle exchange will soon open in Pueblo.
Access Point Pueblo will open a site on May 6 on East Routt Avenue.
Services will be available on Saturdays from 2 to 4 p.m.
“We had been working in this neighborhood. Clients led us to it. We tried a number of neighborhoods that were impacted. This is where we kept coming back to. This is where we kept seeing clients,” said Dr. Michael Nerenberg, physician.
Another exchange site is already located near the intersection of West Eighth and North Greenwood Streets and opens its services on Tuesdays.
