New plant to create more jobs in Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. - The Pueblo Economic Development Corporation announced that 15 to 20 jobs will be coming to the city.

New Mexico-based manufacturer CR Minerals will call Pueblo home soon.

Our partners at the Pueblo Chieftain reported that the company will invest an upward of $10 million on the project.

The plant will be located near the Vestas wind turbine towers and Rocla concrete rail tie factories.

CR Minerals will use the plant to make an alternative to the existing fly-ash additives used in the concrete and precast concrete industries.

Construction is set to begin this week with operations to start by early 2018.

CR Minerals will receive $250,000 from the city of Pueblo's half-cent sales tax for economic development in exchange for employing a minimum of 17 full-time jobs by October 2019, under a jobs incentive package expected to be approved by Pueblo City Council on Monday night, PEDCO officials said.
