PUEBLO, Colo. - The Parkview Medical Center broke ground on Wednesday on an outpatient center in Pueblo.
A special ceremony was held for the new center that will be at the corner of 14th Street and Grand Avenue.
The new building will free up room from the hospital to allow the emergency departments to expand with minimal impact in the neighborhood.
Officials are delighted about its future impact.
“A big piece of what we are doing could be done in an outpatient center. So what we've looked at an opportunity in the rules. Some of the stuff outside of the hospital down the street. Take a little bit of the pressure off the hospital,” said Mike Baxter, CEO of Parkview Medical Center.
Construction is expected to last through the end of 2017.
