Protests in Pueblo after District Attorney hires daughter, son-in-law

Anti-nepotism rally in Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. - A group in Pueblo marched in protest against the District Attorney on Tuesday.

Anti-nepotism demonstrators don't agree with Jeff Chostner for apparently hiring his daughter and son-in-law.

KRDO NewsChannel 13’s partners at the Pueblo Chieftain reported about an investigation in 2016.

On Tuesday, people rallied at the judicial building in Pueblo.

“Certainly someone as high as a District Attorney would know better than to do things like this. Nonetheless, it's going on and has to stop,” said Alvin Rivera.

Chostner says his daughter and son-in-law went through the county's human resources hiring procedures and that he was not involved in that process.

Practicing nepotism is not illegal in the workplace, however, it is frowned upon.
