Pueblo PD take down man reaching for gun in pocket

PUEBLO, Colo. - Pueblo officers arrested a man that was causing a disturbance a the W. 6th Street McDonald's on Thursday morning. 

Police responded to 600 W. 6th Street at around 10 a.m. to investigate the disturbance. The man, later identified as Ruben Gamez, was gone when they arrived, but police found him later in the area of 6th Street and Greenwood. 

Gamez ran and tried to reach into his coat pocket several times, police say. 

He was growling and howling while resisting arrest. Police eventually had to taze him. 

When police had him in custody, they found a handgun in his coat pocket. 

Gamez told officers his name was Crazy Wolf before police were able to determine his real identity. 

He then was then taken to the Pueblo County Detention Center where he was booked on charges of Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender, Felony Menacing, Attempted 2nd Degree Assault, Resisting Arrest, and Restraining Order Violation.
