Railroad tie fire burning southeast of Pueblo

The Pueblo Fire Department says a railroad tie fire is burning at the ROCLA Cement Plant on Lime Road.

The Pueblo Fire Department and a West Park Fire water tender are on scene.

No injuries have been reported and no buildings are threatened.

While officials aren't sure how it started, they believe a chemical in the ties may have sparked it.

The plant is trying to get forklifts to remove some of the unburnt ties in hopes of stopping the growth of the fire.

KRDO NewsChannel 13 has a crew there trying to gather more information.
