UPDATE: Victim, suspect named in deadly Pueblo shooting

PUEBLO, Colo. - Pueblo Police have identified the person who died in a shooting, making it the city’s first homicide. 

The shooting happened just after 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 25 in the 2300 block of Lake Avenue.

Danny Jones, 54, was found dead by the time officers arrived at the area.

Pueblo Police believe an argument over a stolen item is what lead up to the shooting.

The suspect has been identified as 62-year-old Jack Pembelton.

Pembelton is currently in the hospital being treated for a pre-existing medical condition and is facing First Degree Murder charges.
