Vehicle stolen in Pueblo with 2yearold still inside

PUEBLO, Colo. - A 2-year-old is reunited with family after being left in a vehicle that was stolen outside a building in Pueblo on Tuesday morning.

Pueblo police got a call just before 9:30 a.m. from the boy's mother. She said she had left him in her 2005 silver Honda Accord hybrid, went inside a building in the 2000 block of Mohawk Drive, and noticed her car pulling out of the parking lot.

The 2-year-old was found walking down the street a short time later.

Pueblo police say they are still looking into if this mom will be facing charges.

"Regardless if there are criminal charges or not, I mean this is definitely going to be a learning lesson for not only this parent but hopefully other parents who see this... who won't make the same mistake," said Capt. Kenny Rider with the Pueblo Police Department.

The mother's vehicle is still missing. It has a Wonder Woman hat in the back window and no license plate. If you have any information, contact Pueblo police.

The mother has been charged with child abuse. Police have also found her stolen Honda Accord.
