Woman reports fake officer pulled her over near Fairgrounds in Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. - The Pueblo Police Department issued a warning on Monday about a person pretending to be an officer.

A woman called the department on August 31, saying she had been pulled over in the 2000 block of Mesa Avenue near the Fairgrounds by a black car showing red and blue lights. It did not have a siren.

The woman stated that a man she believed was an officer asked her for her registration and insurance. The suspect then demanded she get out of the car, and at one point, he shoved her head onto the hood, according to the victim.

She described the suspect as being 5'10" with blonde hair pushed to the side and wearing dark clothing with a badge.

He did not have a name plate on his shirt.

If you have any information on the suspect, you are asked to call Pueblo police.
