ARAPAHOE BASIN, Colo. - Ski season is started at 9 a.m. on Friday as people began to line up for the opening of the first chair lift at Arapahoe Basin as early as Wednesday.
The weather was beautiful today, dipping into the 40's for the first day of the season.
We spoke to five gentleman who having been waiting all night to be on one of the first chairs this morning.
"Yeah solid seven hours of sleep on the ground last night. It was warm. They weren't able to snow make but the run actually looks fairly decent, edge to edge, solid deep and they've been grooming it for a couple days so it should be soft," said Nate Doggg who had been waiting at the lift since Wednesday.
With thousands of people attending opening day, its a sure sign that the ski year should be a successful one.
