Springs man convicted of kidnapping, assault
A Colorado Springs man has been convicted of second degree burglary and second degree assault according to police.
Michael Rivera, 25, could face more than 100 years in prison. Sentencing has not been scheduled.
Police say that on January 17, 2013, Rivera kidnapped and pistol whipped his ex-girlfriend.
The victim said Rivera drove her to a house on the east side of town where he continued to assault her. Rivera then forced the victim to remove her clothing and get into a bath tub.
The victim says Rivera briefly left the room, and she was able to escape out the bathroom window. She ran to a neighbor's house for help.
Police say the victim has been in hiding since the night of the crime.
