Springs murder suspect arrested in Texas

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

Police say a man who shot two people to death in Colorado Springs has turned himself in to police in Texas. Gary Glen Vigil was arrested in El Paso. Plans are being made to return him to Colorado.

Vigil is accused of shooting two people at the corner of Platte Avenue and Juanita Street on the night of Saturday, August 10, 2013. Police received the call at 10:44 p.m.

The victims were identified as Camille Root, 24, and Daniel Castaneda, 22.

Vigil was quickly identified as the primary suspect in the shooting and an arrest warrant was issued for him. He is facing murder charges.

The motive for the killings is unclear. Police don't know when Vigil will be returned to Colorado Springs.
