Stage 1 burn ban implemented for El Paso County

Stage 1 burn ban implemented for El Paso County

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - County burn bans are taking effect in Colorado as we enter into extreme fire danger and a possibly difficult fire season.

Many counties are included in this stage 1 burn restriction to keep human-caused fires to a minimum.

El Paso and Teller counties are both under the ban, meaning no outdoor campfires unless in a pre-made fire pit, no smoking outside of an enclosed area, and restrictions on the use of power tools.

City bans can also be put into place, but Colorado Springs doesn't have a ban in effect right now.
