Dog returned to Colorado family after being stolen from front yard

WATCH Camera captures man stealing...

DENVER - A Colorado family has been reunited with its beloved Shih Tzu after the pooch was stolen from a front yard last week.

Surveillance video caught the theft, which happened in the Lowry neighborhood of Denver last Tuesday, and a clip received millions of views on Facebook.

The dog, Zoe, was found Sunday wandering along Quebec Street, according to KMGH. Zoe was then returned to her family.

Zoe's owner, Yoann Hispa, told KMGH she believes the theft's exposure on social media scared the thieves into abandoning the dog.

Hispa said her family is just glad to have Zoe back.

A family in Colorado is asking for help in getting their dog back home and identifying the man who stole her right off their front porch.

Zoe was taken from Jaime Gastelle's yard near Quebec and 4th in the Hilltop neighborhood in Denver at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

Security footage from her front door captures the moment when the suspect pulled up to her home in a black truck, snatched up her 7-month-old puppy and took off without hesitation.

Gastelle told KRDO NewsChannel 13 that her boyfriend was home when it happened and was notified by the neighbor but wasn't quick enough to stop the suspect.

"I'm so sad, she has truly been such a blessing, and for someone to steal her is devastating to our family," said Gastelle.

If you have information on Zoe or the suspect, please contact the Denver Police Department at (720) 913-1300.
