I-25 northbound from Castle Rock to Lincoln Ave. to be closed from 8:30 a.m.- noon on Friday

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. - A portion of Interstate 25 northbound will be closed Friday morning. for the procession of fallen Douglas County Deputy Zackari Parrish.

I-25 northbound from Castle Rock to Lincoln Ave will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

This will be a rolling closure, so the road will open behind the procession.Vehicles in the procession will be moving 25 mph.

 Motorists can expect major delays throughout I-25 and the surrounding roadways.

KRDO is suggesting to take Interquest Pkwy/CO-83 to Parker or CO-105 to Sedalia.

There is expected to be at least 2,000 vehicles as a part of the procession. 

The funeral will be held at the Cherry Hills Community Church at 3900 Grace Boulevard in Highlands Ranch at 11 a.m.

Emergency vehicles will be able to enter closure points.

KRDO will keep you up-to-date on traffic in the area during the procession.

Parrish was investigating a disturbance at the Copper Canyon apartments in Highlands Ranch when he was fatally shot by Matthew Riehl on New Year's Eve.
