Smoky skies continue in southern Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS - Waking up on Tuesday morning, you might have noticed the haze still blanketing Colorado.

Bad news...this could persist until the weekend.

Luckily, Monday night into Tuesday morning's cold front helped clear out some of the smokiness in the air.

On Tuesday morning, officials expired the air quality warning that was in effect on Monday morning.

READ MORE: What's with the haze?

According to our meteorologists, the jet stream sweeping through California, Oregon, Washington, and Montana is carrying the smoke from their wildfires and dumping it on Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Colorado.

As long as the western wildfires persist and the wind flow continues to curl over Colorado, the haze will linger.

Things could change a bit this weekend as our weather pattern shifts.
