World's first underground drop ride opens in CO

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. - For thrill seekers who have done it all, a new attraction has opened up in Colorado that you can check off your bucket list.

You can find the world's first underground drop ride in Glenwood Springs at the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park.

The Haunted Mine Drop sits on top of Iron Mountain and drops riders 110 feet down into the mountain.

The Haunted Mine Drop ride was constructed by Stan Checketts’ Soaring Eagle in Logan, Utah. Checketts is an icon in the industry, having created some of the top thrill rides in the world, including the park’s cliffside Giant Canyon Swing and the Stratosphere Tower Big Shot in Las Vegas.

The Haunted Mine Drop will operate year-round.
