Stranger Tries To Lure Child In Monument

MONUMENT, Colo. - The Monument Police Department is investigating a report of an Enticement of a Child which occurred on Thursday around 6:00 p.m.

The incident was reported to have occurred in the area of Mt. Herman Rd. and Mitchell Ave. Police say that a man in a pickup truck approached a juvenile that was walking down the road and tried to lure the juvenile into the vehicle. The juvenile ran from the scene and the suspect drove away without further incident.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 5'10" tall, thin build, 40-45 years of age, with short balding black hair, hazel eyes, and speaks with a raspy voice.

The suspect's vehicle is possibly a newer model Chevrolet pickup with possible Colorado license plate 44H2X3. Distinguishing characteristics of the vehicle include tan leather seats and barb wire stickers running down both sides of the front window.
