Investigators Say Fire Was Set Intentionally By Juvenile

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Investigators have determined that a fire at Sunset Creek Apartments yesterday was set intentionally.

The fire investigators have determined that this fire was intentionally set by a juvenile. Since the juvenile is over the age of ten, they were cited for 1st degree arson and 4th degree endangerment arson.

The fire caused over $280,000 worth of damage.

The apartments are located off of N. Nevada and Garden of the Gods.

Two families were displaced because of this blaze. The Red Cross is helping those families find places to stay.

Firefighters tell KRDO NewsChannel 13 the fire sparked in a first-floor apartment then quickly spread to the second floor and the roof.

Fire crews said no one was seriously injured, but there was a woman who was previously on oxygen who had trouble breathing. She was treated at the scene and is expected to recover.
