US 24 east now open after being closed because of crash

SIMLA, Colo. -

Highway 24 is now open between Matheson and Simla.

US 24 was closed after a tanker rolled over in Simla, spilling fuel.

The accident was reported at 4:10 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2013.

A hazardous materials team was dispatched to the scene to clean up the fuel spill.

It's unknown how much fuel leaked from the 8,000 gallon tanker.
