Albertsons stores to convert to Safeways

Stores will change designations come mid-August

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Three Albertsons stores in Colorado Springs will be changing their name next month, removing the last locations from the city.

Albertsons will be rebranding their stores into Safeways in a move aimed at promoting the Safeway brand in the city.

Additionally, the stores will also receive remodels in an effort to improve the shopping experience, including new flooring, additional department, and fixture improvements to the stores.

The remodels in the Colorado Springs area is expected to cost $6 million.

The stores being rebranded are located at:

7055 Austin Bluffs Parkway

8750 N. Union Blvd.

4405 Centennial Blvd.

Albertsons and Safeway merged brands in early 2015, and the rebranding of the existing stores is an effort to improve and promote the Safeway brand.
