MONUMENT, Colo. - Several businesses in Monument had to be evacuated on Tuesday morning after a U.S. Brokers Inc. received a bomb threat.
At just before 10:30 a.m., a typed up note was sent to the printer of the U.S. Brokers Inc. off Woodmoor Drive. The note was demanding money to be wired to an account via the Western Union.
As a precaution, surrounding businesses were evacuated and the Regional Explosives Unit responded to investigate.
Fortunately, no explosive device was located.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, the same note was sent to a U.S. Brokers Inc. in another state.
