Family displaced after house fire in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

Colorado Springs firefighters are investigating the cause of a house fire. The fire ignited Wednesday night in the 5800 block of Broadmoor Bluffs Drive.

No one was hurt and there was a short search the family pets. 

CSFD used its resources to take care of one of their cats. 

 

 

Nearby homes were placed on pre-evacuation notice. One neighbor helped officials warn others.

“Did let our neighbors know what was going on,” said Kent Pull. “Did go door-to-door and said ‘Pre-evacuation. Be prepared. Get your medications. Get your legal documents just in case.’”

While battling the fire, crews were pulled out of the home because of concerns over the roof could collapse.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but a neighbor told KRDO NewsChannel 13 there had been several lightning strikes in the area.
