COLORADO SPRINGS - Strong winds on Saturday caused a grass fire in southeast Colorado Springs to grow from 1 acre to 10 in a matter of minutes.
The fire was burning in an open field along Powers, near the Colorado Springs Airport.
We received several photos from viewers from across the city stating that they can see the smoke plumes.
As of 1: 15 p.m., crews had the fire contained and was beginning mop-up.
They are still unsure of the cause and will have more details after further investigation.
