UPDATE: KRDO signal restored after CSU power outage

Crews working to restore signal to full power

COLORADO SPRINGS Colo. - FINAL UPDATE: KRDO engineers have restored our signal. This means you should now be seeing NewsChannel 13 over the air, as well as on local cable and satellite providers. We are on a back-up transmitter which means you may experience a weaker signal than normal. Crews are still working to get our primary signal back up soon.

According to the CSU outage map, the power interruption that hit earlier in the evening has been resolved. It's not clear yet what led to the power failure.

From earlier:

KRDO engineers are aware of the electrical outage that has knocked out NewsChannel 13 programming.

The problem is part of a larger power outage affecting the Cheyenne Meadows neighborhood and portions of Fort Carson.

The power hit came at about 10:15pm Friday night, and at the time of this writing, was affecting more than 6,000 customers.

That number is down from the first estimates put out by Colorado Springs Utilities, indicating that crews on their end are out restoring service as well.

We have a crew of engineers working to restore our on-air signal. The outage is affecting viewers who receive our signal over-the-air,  through DirecTV, and on PRISM TV.

We thank you in advance for your patience, and apologize for the loss of signal.
