Law enforcement investigating "threat" at El Paso County elementary school

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - An investigation is underway into a threat written on a bathroom wall at an elementary school in El Paso County, Colorado.

Samantha Briggs with Widefield School District 3 said on Tuesday night that a threat was found written on a wall inside a boys' bathroom at Webster Elementary School earlier that afternoon.

The student they believe was responsible has been identified and administration is taking disciplinary action.

What was written on the wall and how that student will be punished is unknown.

The school is working with law enforcement on the investigation to determine the credibility of the threat.

Briggs said in a news release, "Students and staff were never in any danger and we are confident that our school is safe.

We strongly encourage you to have a conversation with your child regarding school threats and the impact it has in our schools and our community. We take all threats very seriously and we are working with various community agencies to address these issues in the Pikes Peak Region."
