Man faces attempted murder charge after Pueblo shooting

PUEBLO, Colo. - An attempted murder suspect surrendered early Thursday morning after a brief standoff with police at a hotel on N. Elizabeth Street. 

Jesus Sierra is accused of shooting a man in the 3000 block of Denver Boulevard at around 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Law enforcement tracked Sierra to the Days Inn in the 4200 block of N. Elizabeth at around 4 a.m. Thursday.

Sierra first refused to come out of his hotel room, but he and a woman he was in the room with eventually came out.

Sierra faces an attempted first-degree murder charge for the shooting. He also had an active warrant for absconding from parole supervision.

The shooting victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
