Nate Miller hopes to throw his way to a state championship

Widefield senior hopes to shine at state track

Throwing is in Nate Miller's blood, "I was really close with my sister growing up and she was a state level thrower. So I just kind of followed after her and ended up being pretty good I guess," says Miller.

The brother-sister bond was his gateway to throwing shot put and discus for Widefield, now, even though he throws farther, she still reminds him who's boss, "Her junior year she got this place at state and I got 5th. She never won state, so hopefully I can get that one up on her," says Miller.

It's Nate's time to shine this weekend and that's exactly what he expects to do, "I know it's not going to be a walk in the park because there are some competitors close to where I'm at. They're going to give everything they have and I'm going to give everything I have. I'm fairly confident that I can walk away with a couple state titles," says Miller.
