BOULDER, Colo. - A multi-state search is underway for the missing remains of a woman who police believe was murdered in Boulder before being at least partially dismembered near Shreveport, Louisiana.
Ashley Mead, 25, and her daughter, Winter, were reported missing on Valentine's Day after Mead didn't show up for work. Winter was found unharmed in Oklahoma the next day.
Police believe that partial human remains that were found in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on February 16 belong to Ashley Mead.
The suspect in this case is Winter's father, Adam Densmore. He has been arrested and faces a first-degree murder charge.
Boulder Police say that they believe Densmore killed Ashley Mead and then drove from Colorado to Louisiana. They say that along the way, he traveled through New Mexico and Texas. Police think Densmore then drove to Oklahoma by way of Arkansas.
The Boulder Police Department says it is concerned that some of Mead's body parts were discarded in different communities along Densmore's travel route. They say they also believe some of her remains may be in a purple suitcase.
