Springs store owner shot during gunfire exchange with possible would-be robber

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Colorado Springs Police Department says the owner of a Colorado Springs business was shot while exchanging gunfire with a possible would-be robber Thursday night. 

The shooting happened outside of Southwest Auto in the 2400 block of Platte Place, near the intersection of Platte Avenue and Platte Place.

The owner of Southwest Auto was shot twice. His injuries are serious, but he is expected to survive.

Police say they are investigating this case as a possible robbery attempt. The other man may or may not have also been shot.

No description of that man was available as of 7:18 p.m. Thursday.
