Rocky Ford Cantaloupes set to hit grocery stores on Monday

Melon time

ROCKY FORD, Colo. -

On Monday Rocky Ford melons are set to enter many Colorado supermarkets.

The melons come from six melon fields that are part of the Rocky Ford Growers Association.

The association plans to unveil this season's harvest for Governor Hickenlooper in Denver on Monday.

It typically takes about 90 days from planting to harvesting but this growing season got off to a late start because of heavy rainfall earlier this spring.
