Search continues for mother, 1-yr-old son taken by gunpoint

AMBER ALERT issued out of Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. - An Amber Alert was issued for a 1-year-old on Thursday. 

Police believe 1-year-old Zahid and 26-year-old Samantha Adams were taken from the Commerce City area in Adams County at around 11:30 a.m. 


The Adam County Sheriff's Office says the woman is from Pueblo and may have been taken by gunpoint by her ex-boyfriend, Mauricio Venzor-Gonzalez, 22. 


Authorities have confirmed that Venzor-Gonzalez is the biological father of the toddler. 

Venzor-Gonzalez is described as standing 5'6" tall, Hispanic, with black hair and brown eyes. They say he is about 130 pounds and is wearing a black baseball cap. 

Venzor-Gonzalez was traveling in a primer gray Honda 4-door with CO license plate EVQ410.

Authorities have found the vehicle at 1741 Cypress Street near the area of Lakeview and Stone in Pueblo.

 

 

 

Venzor-Gonzales already has two warrants for his arrest for unrelated cases, according to Pueblo PD. A Burglary warrant or $50,000 and a Failure to Appear warrant for $1,000.

He is considered to be armed and dangerous.
