COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -
The El Paso County Sheriff's SWAT team entered a home right next door to an elementary school for reasons that are still unknown.
Friday evening the SWAT team surrounded a home located Stratmoor Hills Elementary School on Loomis Avenue near the 83 with guns drawn. Witnesses near the scene took video of the team breaking down the homes back yard fence to enter.
Kalvin Griffith and Daniel Hawkins were at the school when they saw the SWAT team surround the home. They say they had their guns drawn and started filming them when one of the deputies told them it was too dangerous to be near.
Hawkins says, "A whole bunch of them armored up, guns drawn. Then officers told me and my friend to get out of sight and said it was not safe."
A teacher who works at the school says that the school was put on lockdown the day before because the SWAT team was searching another house nearby.
