How is the Waldo Canyon burn scar recovering from the major wildfire five years ago.

Monday night at 10 p.m., KRDO NewsChannel 13 begins a three-part special report titled: "The Waldo Canyon Burn Scar: Five Years Later."

We talk with experts and outdoor enthusiasts about the current condition of the burn scar, and ask if it's where it should be and what more should be done to help in its recovery.

The series also will compare the Waldo scar to the much larger Hayman burn scar, as June marks the 15th anniversary of what remains the largest wildfire in Colorado history.

Finally, we'll investigate why the popular Waldo Canyon Trail hasn't reopened since the fire.

Drone video will provide a unique and stunning perspective of the damage and recovery of both burn scars.

Watch our special reports Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 p.m.
