WEATHER ALERT DAY: Flood warnings issued for several southern Colorado rivers

PUEBLO, Colo. - The rain is clearing, but flood warnings remain in effect for some areas in the wake of Wednesday's heavy storms. 

There is a flood warning for the Arkansas River at La Junta until Sunday morning and the Purgatoire River near Las Animas until Friday morning.

There is also a flood warning for a large swath of central Pueblo County, northeastern Custer County, southeastern Fremont County and northwestern Huerfano County, until 7:45 p.m. Flooding is expected on small streams and rivers in the warning area through this evening.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Beulah, Colorado City, Rye, Wetmore, Greenhorn Mountain, San Isabel, Pueblo Reservoir, Blende, and Avondale.
