UPDATE: Woman identified who fell 90 feet off cliff at Liberty Point

PUEBLO WEST, Colo. - A woman fell 90 feet off a cliff at Liberty Point in Pueblo West on Sunday night and survived. Angelica Medina, 30, was with her family on Sunday when she slipped and lost her footing and fell off of the point above Lake Pueblo.

Medina's husband tells us she has a tear in her kidney, fractured vertebra and is scraped and bruised, but otherwise is recovering.

Authorities got the call at around 8 p.m.

A friend of the 30-year-old told the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office that the rocks gave way, causing the woman to fall off the edge.

When first responders arrived, they found the 30-year-old conscious and sitting at the bottom of the cliff.

Pueblo West Fire Chief Brian Caserta said she was airlifted out of the canyon to prevent any further injuries.

"It was more stable for us to take her out from the bottom via helicopter because of the significance of her injuries," Caserta said.

Caserta wants to warn people who are spending time in that area that because we have had so much rain lately, the landscape could be looser than normal.
