Woman killed in I-25 crash on Monument Hill was from Walsenburg

MONUMENT, Colo. - The Colorado State Patrol has released the name of a woman who died in a crash on I-25 north of Colorado Springs Thursday. She was Sharon Apodaca, 69, of Walsenburg.

The woman who was critically injured in the crash was not identified, but state patrol says she is 91-years-old and also from Walsenburg. 

The investigation into the crash continued into Friday morning, with state patrol briefly closing down some lanes just before noon. 

The crash, which involved two sedans and a semi, happened on northbound I-25 south of County Line Road a little after 1 p.m. Thursday.

Traffic was either down to one lane or completely blocked for much of the afternoon. All lanes reopened around dinner time. 

No names have been released.
