High profile vehicles ordered off I-25 in southern Colorado

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - The Colorado Department of Transportation ordered high profile vehicles off of I-25 between Monument Hill and New Mexico Monday because of dangerous wind gusts.

Several semi-trucks were blown over in the Colorado Springs area.

The order applied to semi-trucks, tractor-trailers, buses, and other high profile vehicles.

Colorado Springs' Mountain Metro Transit suspended service as did several area school districts because of the high winds and the CDOT order.

As of 7:45 p.m., officials have lifted the high wind restriction on I-25 from Monument to New Mexico.
