Pileup shuts down southbound I-25 at Castle Rock

CASTLE ROCK, Co. - A multi-car pileup on the southbound side of I-25 has shut down all lanes of traffic at Castle Rock.

Poor road conditions due to this week's winter storm are blamed for the wreck.

The extent of injuries to the drivers involved are still unclear.

Drivers heading toward Colorado Springs from Denver are being forced to exit at Wolfensberger Road in Castle Rock and take Highway 83 south.

As of 10:00pm, CDOT did not have an estimate on how long it would take to reopen the interstate.

Stay tuned for updates.
