Power restored to over 9,000 customers after crash on Hwy 24

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - A crash at Highway 24 and Ridge caused a major power outage in the area on Wednesday morning. 

According to Colorado Springs Utilities, around 9,332 customers were without power at around 9 a.m.

As of 11 a.m., the outage was cut down to just over 4,000 customers.  

Then at just after noon, crews were able to restore power to all affected. 

Traffic lights in the area of W Colorado Avenue and Highway 24 were down for a short time. Those should be back up and running normally.
