Officers went inside the home and found a man holding a large piece of glass in his hands. They told him to drop the glass, but he refused, according to a news release.

Then the man started walking toward the officers with the glass still in his hand. That's when the officers drew their weapons and fired at the man.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity hasn't been released yet.

It's not clear how many officers were involved in the incident. The city said their body camera videos confirmed their report.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation into the incident.
