UPDATE: Victim in Fountain hit-and-run crash dies, search continues for driver

Fountain, CO - Officers are looking for the driver behind a hit and run crash that killed a pedestrian in Fountain.

It happened Saturday night near the intersection of South Highway 85 and Fontaine Boulevard.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and died Sunday morning. The victim was identified as 57-year-old Mario Michael Wells, Fountain Police said.

A Medina Alert was issued for the truck that left the scene. It's described as an older, dark colored pickup truck with a camper shell and a Colorado license plate. The truck may be maroon. It also may have front-end damage. The truck was last seen heading southbound on Mesa Ridge Parkway.
