Woman and 5-year-old child killed in Weld County crash

WELD COUNTY, Colo. - A crash Friday morning in Weld County claimed the lives of a 20-year-old woman and a 5-year-old child, and at least two other people were reported in critical condition.

The crash happened at about 8 a.m. on Highway 52 at the intersection of Weld County Road 41 according to our partners at KMGH. (MAP)

Four vehicles were involved in the crash, but the woman and the 5-year-old child were in the same vehicle, according to Colorado State Patrol. A 3-year-old child and another driver were hospitalized following the crash. Two other drivers weren't seriously injured.

The identities of those involved haven't been released yet.

A CSP trooper told KMGH that fog may have been a factor in the crash, but investigators believe the 20-year-old ran through a stop sign.

Hwy 52 was shut down for several hours while investigators collected more evidence from the area.

The victims' family has set up a GoFundMe for funeral expenses, and you can donate HERE.
