COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -

A woman who caused a crash that took the life of a mother and her 3-year-old son was sentenced to 30 years in prison Friday (8/8/14).

The convictions against Arica Vlach, 31, were handed down on the evening of Thursday, June 12, 2014.

The accident happened at the intersection of Judge Orr Road and Log Road on July 12, 2013.

Troopers said Nicole Enderle, 42, was driving a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country van on Judge Orr Road. Enderle's two children, Alexander, 3, and Zoe, 2, were also in the van.

Enderle was driving westbound on Judge Orr Road, troopers said, when a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV ran a stop sign, crashing into Enderle's van.

Enderle and Alexander were killed in the crash. Zoe was taken to Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the SUV was identified as Vlach. She suffered serious injuries in the crash and was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs.

Troopers said everyone in the minivan was properly strapped in with seat belts. Vlach was not wearing her seat belt.
